NEW CD OUT IN NOVEMBER 2011: SHOOT THEM ALL

`` The Belgian band RACKHAM releases a new album in November 2011 called SHOOT THEM ALL, which pushes even further the limits of the genre.

Toine Thys (bass clarinet and saxophone) is accompanied by Lucien Fraipont on guitars, Eric Bribosia on keyboards (Black Light Orchestra, S.W.A.N.), Steven Cassiers on drums (Dez Mona), and Nathan Wouters on acoustic bass (in concert: Dries Laheye on electric bass).

After their first cd JUANITA K. (2006), SHOOT THEM ALL offers 10 new songs, music of a movie yet to be realized.

RACKHAM, the hybrid project of jazzman Toine Thys, flirts with rock, jazz and pop, to name but a few musical 'genres' related.. It goes far beyond the bounderies established for the benefit of a creative music, which will confuse the musical tagger.

SHOOT THEM ALL is a careful production down the smallest details. Under the artistic direction of the Antwerp Joris Caluwaerts (Milow, Zita Swoon, Stuff), the band opted for the use of old equipment (vintage microphones and amplifiers, analog keyboards from the ’80th, Hammond organ…) for a warmer sound.

Ennio Morricone, The Cinematic Orchestra or Daniel Lanois are never far away.

The name RACKHAM comes from the famous pirate of the eighteenth century, Jack Calico Rackham, known as "Calico Jack". Excentric character, colorful, he is best known for the two famous female pirates he had among his crew...
A real villain…
